Oṣóyínká

Fihànká:

Ìtumọọ Oṣóyínká

1. I'm surrounded by sorcerers. 2. I'm surrounded by the god of the harvest (Òrìṣà oko)

Àwọn àlàyé mìíràn

Another more complex root of the word Oṣó comes from the god/òrìṣà of farming, Òrìṣàokó & agriculture. So, the original name of Oṣóyínká would be Òrìṣàokóyínká. It then was shortened to Oṣóókóyínká, and then to Oṣóyínká. This is the same for all names of Oṣó or Ṣó, however, many of those names may either originate for the òrìṣà or sorcerers in general so the only way to distinguish a name's meaning is knowing the unqique history of every family with the name.
