The name comes from the Oǹdó and Ìdànrè area. ùghà is the term for royal courtyard of the palace (àghọ̀fẹn) in Oǹdó and Ọ̀wọ̀ dialects. It is related to Èkìtì "ụ̀à," which has the same meaning.
