Meaning of Àtìpó

Sojourner, adventurer, foreigner.

Extended Meaning

This was given as a nickname to my maternal great-grandfather Ifáàláyè of Ìlárá-Mọ̀kín because he was a hunter who travelled widely, especially to new, undiscovered forests and lands, and thus was given this nickname as "one who sojourns." His descendants then used this name as their family name.
