In certain Èkìtì lineages, traditionally, Ìwẹ̀ was a name given to all girls born in the lineage. In these lineages, the men were named Ọ̀ṣọ́. An example is the people of the Ìjìgbò quarter in Adó-Èkìtì. Some households in Ìlárá-Mọ̀kín also have this tradition.
